Chiefly printed copies of short stories by a Charlotte writer. Also includes an incomplete typescript of her novel, "Beyond Surrender," drafts of an untitled and unfinished novel, manuscript and typed copies of 15 short stories, and articles about her writing. The greater part of this collection comprises printed copies of Sims' short stories as they appeared in popular magazines from 1933 to 1956. The collection does not contain any correspondence.

Marian McCamy Sims, author, was born in Dalton (Whitfield County, Ga.) in 1889. She graduated from Agnes Scott College, taught high school in Dalton and married Frank Sims also of Dalton. She started her writing career with short stories in magazines and wrote seven novels from 1934-1948 including MORNING STAR, WORLD IN A FENCE, and CITY ON THE HILL.
